Nothing replaces custom work done by a professional artist, or quality design. However sometimes people need to get the income to afford hiring an artist and need options in the meantime. Here are some Lio recommends. Not free trials, free. Or they have decent enough free versions to continue using at the moment.
Drawing, photo editing, and 3D:
Krita (Lio’s top choice for raster drawings)
Inkscape (Lio’s top choice for vector work)
Scribus (a slightly outdated but reasonably feature packed Adobe InDesign alternative that works well paired with GIMP and Inkscape)
GIMP (a sort of alright replacement for Photoshop)
Blender (3D animations)
Video Editing:
Davinci Resolve (Lio’s top choice, very feature packed, great free version, it’s so good you can even choose your layout based on what editors with which you’re already familiar)
Clipchamp (simple, short learning curve, easy to use editor)
